Grassroots Lobbying
ConstituentPAC.com's current issue is cutting off funding to terrorist organizations. Below is a version of a flyer we hand out to people. We stand in front of the White House, as well as other places around the U.S., and encourage passersby to take our survey and sign a letter we can bring to their Congressman.

Dear Friend,
We are a true grassroots lobbying group. We’re here because we share a common concern that the U.S War on Terror has lost its focus and is moving in a direction away from opposing terror and towards appeasing terrorists. Amazingly, hundreds of millions of U.S. tax dollars are being distributed to groups considered as terrorist by the U.S. government. Were you, or I, to give even a nickel to any of these groups, we’d be facing years in a federal prison.
Some of us have met for the first time within the past few weeks as we attended protests, rallies and demonstrations against the Annapolis Summit. The summit, we felt, was a mistake: the Administration’s no holds barred approach to creating a “state of Palestine” rewards terrorism and does not promote peace.
Since the summit, we’ve continued our counter-terrorism efforts, through outreach to the public and the Congress. On the streets of cities around the U.S, and through the Internet, we communicate with voters and ask them to allow us to represent them to their Congressional representatives.
Our approach is simple: we work on one issue at a time. We seek out voters around the U.S. who agree with us that the issue at hand is the issue for them: before a voter joins our team we seek to determine that this voter gives great weight to our common issue when deciding how to vote.
On behalf of the voters who become ConstituentPAC.com members, we
visit their Representatives and present the current issue. Then we get back to
our members by phone, email, AM radio and Internet broadcasts, and through our
website, and thus inform our members, constituents of their Congressman, of what
we’ve learned.|
As we've said, since the summit, we’ve
continued our counter-terrorism efforts, through outreach to the public and the
Congress. We invite you to view a brief (less than 2 minutes) iPod video, and to
take a short survey. Please take a moment of your time to answer these questions
by checking one of the boxes following each question.
1. Were you aware that President Bush has asked the Congress for over $500 million dollars to give to the Palestinian Authority this year?
I WAS AWARE q I WAS NOT AWARE q
2. Were you aware that the Palestinian Authority is connected with terrorist groups such as Al Aqsa Martyrs Brigades, Hamas, and Al Qada?
I WAS AWARE q I WAS NOT AWARE q
3. Should the Congress grant the President’s request to give money to the PA, money which in turn will be used by terrorists to attack American interests?
SHOULD GRANT REQUEST q SHOULD NOT GRANT REQUEST q
If you answered "should not request" and would like us to personally deliver to the Congress your opposition to your U.S. tax dollars funding terrorists, please turn this paper over and fill in the information requested there.
Thank you for this opportunity to introduce you to ConstituentPAC.com
and for participating in our survey. Consider letting us film a short video
of yourself that we will also present to your Congressman’s office. We look
forward to continuing to work with you in the future.

Dear Congressman _____________________,
I was walking by the White House today and was approached by an activist who informed me of President Bush’s request for over $500 million in funding for the Palestinian Authority (PA). I am concerned that this money, if granted, will be used for attacks on American interests.
I would like to urge you to hold off on voting for any bill that would authorize money going to the PA until hearings are held on Capitol Hill to determine what has happened to the money that was given to the PA in the past.
I hereby authorize the person handing you this letter to be my representative to you, and he or she will stay in touch with me and keep me updated on this issue of funding for the PA. I thereby request that you extend to this messenger the same courtesy you would show to me personally.
I would also like to convey that this issue of funding for the PA is important to me, and I am anticipating regular updates on this topic which affects all Americans.
Thank you for your consideration of my suggestion to hold hearings on the issue of whether or not to give money to the PA.
Sincerely,
